By 2020 more Michigan residents will need some education after high school to fill jobs. Check out the projected labor market demand for Michigan in 2010.
Compare the two illustrations at the left. The number of workers who need at least some education/training after high school continues to increase. This does not have to be a 4-year degree. The number of workers who should earn at least some type of certificate doubles between 2013 and 2020. Encourage your students to think about education after high school. It's never too early to have this discussion with your child or grandchildren!
The Michigan workforce is shrinking. We need more workers at every level!
